Job Summary:Our fantastic Group Financial Accounting Manager will be taking a year off and due to this we have a great opportunity to join our finance team as one of the leaders. As the Group Financial Accounting Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the timeliness and integrity of the monthly financial accounts and the statutory accounts. The Group Financial Accounting Manager is also responsible for timely and accurate preparation of GST, FBT, Payroll Tax, PAYG and company tax returns and instalments. Supported by your manager and assisted by your friendly and professional team your days will include - - Ensuring that policies and procedures are maintained at all times by all team members as set out in Vita Group's Standard Operating Manuals
- Coaching and developing staff and sharing knowledge
- Completing monthly financial accounts to set timelines. Conduct high level review of profit and loss and balance sheet accounts and review reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring aged reconciling items are kept to a minimum. Monthly review of provisions to ensure adequate coverage of potential exposure.
- Preparing all tax returns and instalment payments accurately and on time. Prepare tax effect accounting entries for the statutory accounts. Work with the company tax agents to prepare and lodge FBT and company tax returns for all relevant companies.
- Preparing consolidated half year and end year statutory accounts including disclosure requirements to meet Board, audit and ASX deadlines. Responsible for developing and updating models to support half and full year disclosures.
- Compiling the information requirements for external audits at half year and end year. Be the day to day liaison between the company and the external auditors. Monitor and report on the resolution of audit issues.
- Researching and implementing new and revised accounting standards. Prepare papers for senior management and the Board of Directors to outline the impact of new or revised accounting standards.
- Supervising and mentoring qualified and part qualified financial accounting team members.
- Ensuring processes are reviewed annually and that models are developed and continuously refined to reflect changing accounting requirements.
- Maintenance of Vita Group's chart of accounts to ensure the accurate accounting of all assets, liabilities, income and expenses of the organisation
- Delivering a high standard of communication and customer service to customers and colleagues
- Active participation in Vita Group and Finance projects through providing technical accounting and tax expertise.

Your skills and experience will be - - A degree in Commerce or Accounting with Post Graduate qualifications (CPA/ICA)
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Team management experience
- Extensive experience in preparation of statutory accounts, including disclosures, in an ASX listed organisation.
- Extensive experience in preparation of GST and FBT returns.
- Moderate experience in company tax returns.
- Minimum intermediate level experience in the Microsoft Office Suite, internet and email systems, with particular emphasis on Excel
- Experience with the software platforms JDE and Navision advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team in a busy office environment
- Demonstrated capacity to consistently deliver a high level of customer service and develop and maintain ongoing relationships with customers and colleagues
- Demonstrated highly effective written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve effectively
- Well-developed organisational skills - demonstrated ability to manage projects, set goals and meet deadlines.
